The perfect start to the campaign with a 115 victory over Montpellier.
On a fine but chilly evening Cheltenham won the toss and elected to bat first. The top order piled on the runs with the stand out performance from Henry Findlay-Wilson who made 79 not out. A quick fire 65 from Stuart Houghton and contributions from Peter Woodland and James Lloyd-Smith took the total to 197-4 in 20 overs.
The total always looked out of reach for Montpellier with a good opening spell from Jake Cropper (4-0-1-9). The middle order was blown away with 3 wickets from Tom Nicholls and Curtis Oldroyd picked up a couple of wickets at the end with figures of (2-0-2-2). As darkness drew in Montpellier finished their 20 overs with 82-8.
With no league fixture next week, the midweek XI will play a friendly against the University of Gloucester on Tue 15th May at 18:00 in what is always a hotly contested fixture.
